The Club Car Golf Carts

The creation of large 18-hole courses in the United States in 1893 brought with it a need to enjoy the full course without getting exhausted lugging a heavy bag full of clubs from hole to hole. Bill Stevens sought out to help solve this problem with his unique creations. He began by purchasing Landreath Machine Company and turned it into Club Car.

 

The company revolutionized the industry in 1960 by making the first golf cart with a steering wheel. This made controlling the vehicles much easier and riding in them much more enjoyable. This Club Car golf cart quickly earned the favor of golfing celebrities. In 1962, it was displayed in the PGA show in Dunedin, Florida where it gained more fame and popularity.

 

Over the years, the company expanded out its product offering and continued improving their models. Soon roofs were added to help shield players from the unrelenting sun. Extra seating was installed so more people could cruise around in the same vehicle. Extra storage was added so players could bring along everything they needed for a relaxing and comfortable game. The Club Car Utility Terrain Vehicles

Sometimes you need something with more oomph than a traditional model. That's why the company expanded out its product offerings in the 1980s to utility vehicles. These started out as modified golf carts with cargo boxes welded onto them for easy course maintenance. In 1985, the Carryall series launched as a business solution for transportation issues, such as administration officials moving about college campuses. In 2014, this line was reintroduced to offer better efficiency and hauling capacity. These are often used to transport cargo and passengers at resorts, office parks, and other large venues.
